As part of a new initiative from the Department of Small Business Services of New York City, the Washington Heights BID is creating a merchant association in Inwood. This association will be a coalition of the various business owners and merchants of Inwood, particularly focusing on the commercial corridors on Dyckman Avenue, Broadway and 207th Street. The main goal of the merchant association will be to advocate for the business community by providing public support for causes and policies that benefit the merchants in Inwood. Because business-to-business relations are essential in any economically thriving and developing area, the association will organize networking events where merchants will have the opportunity to establish partnerships and leverage opportunities.
The merchant association will be formalized as a nonprofit, with a leadership team in the form of a steering committee which will be represented by local businesses. This steering committee will participate in public forums and meet regularly with Inwood business and other local stakeholders to evaluate merchant needs, issues and concerns. We are in the process of selecting the steering committee members for the Inwood Merchant Association.
As a member of the Inwood business community, we would like to invite you to join the association. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to Isidro Medina at [email protected] or 212-928-3400.
